Our name

Filumena means "daughter of light." It is the name of a Catholic saint known for her unwavering faith, courage, and purity in the face of adversity.

We chose this name because it captures our purpose: to create and share work that carries light into the world. Light that illuminates truth, inspires hope, and reminds us of the beauty woven into everyday life. For us, this light finds its source in Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, whose truth and love guide everything we create.

Just as Saint Filumena's life became a testament to faith, we hope the stories, books, and creative expressions we share become testaments to purposeful living and grace.

This is more than a name. It is an invitation to walk in the light and to shine.

About Caroline Chukwura

Caroline Chukwura is a storyteller at heart. Whether through words, images, or fabric, she creates with one purpose: to illuminate truth, beauty, and meaning in everyday life through the lens of her Christian faith.

With over fifteen years shaping narratives across global development and media, Caroline has worked with organisations including WaterAid, GIZ, BBC Media Action, TechnoServe, and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She holds a Master's degree in International Communication Management from The Hague University of Applied Sciences. But beyond the strategy and stakeholder engagement, beyond the campaigns and frameworks, what drives her is simpler and deeper: the belief that God has given stories the power to heal, connect, and transform.

Caroline writes the kind of stories she needed when she was younger. Stories that don't shy away from hard questions. Stories rooted in biblical truth that meet you where you are and walk with you towards where you could be. Her debut book, Wait! Let's Talk About It: Love, Sex & Purity for Teens, is a testament to this. It invites young people and families into honest, faith-filled conversations grounded in God's Word about love, identity, and purpose in a world full of noise.

But storytelling, for Caroline, is not confined to the page. As the founder of Filumena Collection, she weaves her faith in Jesus Christ and creativity into everything she touches: books that speak biblical truth, fashion that honours beauty and sustainability, and photographs that capture fleeting moments of light. For her, art and faith are inseparable. They are both acts of witness, ways of pointing others to Christ and saying: God sees you, you matter, and there is hope in Him. Caroline believes that creativity is ministry. Through any art form, she is asking the same question: how can this bring God's light?

When she is not working, you will find Caroline travelling to new places, experimenting in the kitchen, or simply pausing to notice the extraordinary hidden in the ordinary. She lives in Abuja, Nigeria, where she continues to create, reflect, and share stories that honour God and matter to hearts seeking Him.
